The National : THE NATIONAL Jan - Jul 2014
Introduction Philip Johns introduced husband and wife team, Christopher Street (GM) and Maryse Street (Program Director) POSITIVE SOLUTIONS, a not for profit organisation, and registered charity, which grew out of mediating couples and children on family issues, and property matters. They went on to work with businesses and employees in resolving issues in posi- tive ways, enabling them to move forward. The idea was to encourage people in very high conflict situations to take positive steps towards conciliation: the fact is, when you get adversarial in court you lose much of what you are fighting for to the lawyers. Positive Solutions has a contract with the Education Dept. with its 20,000 employees, and is on call 24 hours a day. The modern trend is to try to provide a very general service whether employees are physically injured, or depressed, anxious, or have let off steam at customers. 16 THE AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL DRYCLEANER & LAUNDERER JANUARY - JULY 2014 DIA TASMANIA Seminar SALAMANCA INN, HOBART Husband and wife team, Maryse (Program Director), and Christopher Street (G.M .) of POSITIVE SOLUTIONS, Hobart. Great to see the Tasmanian Members turning out in force. The weekend was missing a few regulars due to unavoidable family commitments and diary clashes, but still a very pleasing result.
