ANTHONY KINGSLEY said it is no co-incidence that those laun- derers who keep up the housekeeping have less safety issues, and make more profit. Anthony knows more about ironers and ironer clothing than most people have forgotten. His passion for safety is legendary. Through a powerpoint presentation Anthony showed a series of old ironers, from Victorian era with no guards, cogs through to the brand new 60 metres a minute Jensen. We certainly have come a long way. But just as we no longer have 8 year olds working the factory floor, neither should we be committing some of the sins regularly found in even the most modern laundries. Sins of omission, in many cases. 22 THE AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL DRYCLEANER & LAUNDERER JANUARY FEBRUARY 2015 COMMON FAULTS & BAD PRACTICES WITH IRONERS AND IRONER CLOTHING by Anthony Kingsley, Filterfab Pty Ltd presented to Texcare Federation New Zealand, September 2014 Rather than show you a boring podium shot, I thought you might enjoy to see Anthony Kingsley in Action! Saturday night, (sporting his All Blacks scarf in honour of the game against South Africa displayed in the background on a huge tv screen for the enjoyment of delegates). Anthony had the great pleasure of congratulating Graham Notman as the Filterfab Overseas Study Award National Winner for New Zealand in 2014. In April this year, Graham will go to the CleanShow in Atlanta, and then off to Britain and Europe. Stacy James (Filterfab New Zealand, at right) also was delighted to see such a worthy recipient – Graham was chosen by a very tough panel, Chaired by Neville Bowen (seen at right).
