20 THE AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL DRYCLEANER & LAUNDERER, VOLUME 59 #2 2009 DIA–NSW TRADE SHOW ATTILA INSTRUMENTS Attila Instruments International Pty. Ltd., based in Nerang, Queensland, was established in 1987 and Managing Director of the company, Attila Szvetko, is a qualified Engineer. Over the past twenty-two years the company has built a name for itself as a specialist in the metrology, electronic and engineering field. Indeed, they are one of only six specialists world wide (and Attila is one of only two in Australia) authorised to deal with the ‘heart rate monitors-diagnostic tool- ing’ of the ‘big cats’ or caterpillars, those huge tractor- tyred behemoths of the mining and construction industry. What has this to do with drycleaning? Attila Instruments now represents in Australia and New Zealand “CLEAN AND WASH”, an established range of equipment for the drycleaning industry. “CLEAN AND WASH”. CW is a trade mark of the equipment manufacturer TJ in Hungary for the past 20 years and is sold throughout 22 different European countries and the American continent, where they have long been well known and respected in the market. “These products are offered at a very competitive and realistic price and I look forward to speaking with the industry.” says Attila “CLEAN AND WASH vacuum/blow-ironing tables, shirt finishers, toppers and spotting cabinets represent quality and value. While advanced technology and construction are necessities in any industry in the 21st century, these machines are also environmentally and user friendly, with many and unique features.” Contact Attila (07) 5596 5233 email@example.com This annual event was held at the Epping Club in Rawson Street, Epping during July. Although the Sunday format appeared to work well for everyone in previous years this year a disappointingly sparse 28 drycleaners turned out for the day long event, according to Bill Saad’s reliable note-taking. Perhaps the miserable weather kept drycleaners indoors? Perhaps our industry members are working themselves to the bone, short staffed, and too tired to go out on a Sunday? Whatever the reason, they missed the opportunity to meet some interesting new exhibitors and we take pleasure in introducing these over the next five pages. When your state body goes to the effort of putting on an event, please make the effort to attend. You never know what helpful info you may pick up, contacts you may make, it only need take a couple of hours out of your day. While delighted with Allied Trader support for the show,DIA NSW Vice-President Anwar Mangal (Lawrence Dry cleaners), CEO Philip Johns and President George Masselos wish more cleaners had taken the opportunity to explore new products and services.
