save money and are constantly working on ways to achieve that. Steritex is a healthcare laundry and an amazing amount of care and expensive has been put into their plant. They are an amazing operation, very self contained, even to the point of having a room where they test linen for both strength and washability before it goes into service. They keep a record of everything: KPIs are the order of the day, and in a special Control Room all records flow to the computers and are backed up. At this operation, healthcare theatre work is kept completely separate from other laundry and finishing takes place behind glass, with a dedicated ironer linen. Conveyors are very big in Germany and are even stacked one above another. There is no culture of trolleys, no staff pushing them. There are few people on the floor, only at stations on machines.
