64 THE AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL DRYCLEANER & LAUNDERER, MARCH/APRIL 2008 Back in September 2005 the 'NATIONAL' ran a feature Rob Kelly and Image Mats on the launch of this new business. On 1st March, 2008, Image Mats moved to new premises and we thought it would be a good idea to have a chat with Rob about the move and the reasons for the success of the fledgling business. Shirley: Rob, the obvious question is -- why the move in such a relatively short time? Rob: Quite simply, we ran out of space! Our growth has been exceptional, this year we are on target to double our business from the previous year. Shirley: Did you under- estimate the potential for growth? Rob: When we started the business our policy was to hold stock of all our standard product range. As a result of the growth it was necessary to increase our stock levels accordingly and as a consequence we needed more space. Lots more! Shirley: Why do you place so much importance in the need to hold so much stock? Rob: To be successful we had to be better than the competition. A key element is speed of delivery and we guarantee to deliver anywhere in Australia in three days. This can only be achieved if we have the mats in stock, "We know the majority of our customers don't carry surplus stocks of mats, so when they acquire a new customer it is Office Manager Stephanie has a thorough knowledge of customers needs.
