34 THE AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL DRYCLEANER & LAUNDERER, MAY/JUNE/JULY 2008 TRLA SA 2007 AGM President Ralph Faithfull wel- comed Members and visitors to the Annual General Meeting of the Textile Rental and Laundry Association -- SA Inc. Secretary Anthony Kingsley advised the minutes had been posted on the TRLA SA website three weeks previously, and all members should have had the opportunity to read them prior to the meeting. Darryl Morris, LTM Risk Partnerships indicated that as he would be addressing the Seminar for 45 minutes on Saturday, he would be brief, and would just like to say that 18 months ago LTM decided to expand from servicing the DIA WA market and seek the DIA national market. CGU have been a great support for the drycleaning industry, and have now been approached to do the same for the laundry industry. "Our entry into the market effectively brought down the rates 30% across the east coast for drycleaners. We are not here to buy business, but to bring to you the offer of a beneficial partnership." Darryl told Members. "LTM is not just an insurance service, but a partnership, with positive returns to TRLA SA and indeed TRLA A Ltd if the proposal is accepted nationally. This proposal would benefit Members of the Association in two ways. Firstly, they would get a better rate than non-Members. In fact, the difference in loading would encourage membership as the difference in rates would more than meet the annual association subscription cost. Annual renewal of membership is essential to continue annual renewal of insurance at the favoured membership rate. Non members could be covered, but it would cost them more. Secondly, a small commission would be returned to the Association as an ongoing income stream. "Our job at LTM is to negotiate annually the renewal terms. We have dedicated staff for each industry group. I am the first point of contact, and then a specific staff member. "Please note that we can't help with Workers Compensation rates as these are State based. However, we can help with things such as Sponsorship of Awards. The website is www.ltm.com ANNUAL SEMINAR OF TEXTILE RENTAL & LAUNDRY ASSOCIATION SA INC. held at Clare Country Club, Clare A great turn out for this weekend of convivial fellowship and learning, with launderers from across the state well supported by allied traders from across Australia.
