This all can be yours, as the Filterfab Award Winner! IT’S ON AGAIN! AND THIS YEAR, NO EXCUSES. YOU SIMPLY MUST PUT YOURSELF FORWARD FOR STATE SELECTION AS THE FILTERFAB OVERSEAS STUDY AWARD NOMINEE. The Rules The Filterfab Pty Ltd Overseas Study Award presented by the Textile Rental and Laundry Association (Aust.) Ltd and the Australian Healthcare Laundry & Linen Services Association will provide an around the world air ticket for the successful candidate who wins the national judging at the Twinclean or Launtex conven- tion. The winner will be an ambas- sador of the Australian laundry industry. The ticket will be an around the world ticket including transfers and taxes. Filterfab will also provide up to 17 days dinner bed and breakfast and admission to either the European or American International Laundry trade shows. The winner will visit Severnside Fabrics and Andrew Industries in the UK. The winner is encouraged to visit as many plants and manufactures as possible to broaden his/her knowledge and the Allied Traders and Manufactures in Australia would be able to provide letters of introduction. In the UK and France Filterfab can provide assistance should the winner wish to visit a specific type of laundry e.g. a family laundry, industrial laundry etc. Should other Allied Traders wish to look after candidates on the trip, this should be coordinated with Filterfab Pty Ltd. The winner will be accompanied on the trip by a member of Filterfab. Conditions of Entry (1)The award is open to all Australian citizens or those currently applying for Australian citizenship, domiciled in Australia, having reached the age of 21years by October 1st in the year of the award presentation. There is no upper age limit. (2)Candidates must have a minimum of three years experience in the Laundry Industry immediately prior to applying for the award. (3)The applicant must be engaged in a position of responsibility in an Australian laundry and be a member of a recognised laundry industry association. (4)The applicant must not have been a national recipient of the Award or a previous Overseas Award. (5)The National winner must have taken the study tour in sufficient time for a paper to be presented to the following years National TRLA or Australian Healthcare Laundry & Linen Services Association Seminar. The presentation is to last approximately one hour. (6)The National winner must arrange travel through the travel agency nominated by the sponsoring organisation. (7)Applications must be forwarded to reach the relevant state secretary of the Textile Rental and Laundry Association OR Australian Healthcare Laundry & Linen Services Association before 27th July. (8)The candidate must submit with his or her application a discussion paper of not less than 500 words to the State selection panel, who will then forward the state winners discussion paper to the national selection panel. (9)The discussion paper will cover the candidates role in the industry, the problems facing the industry, the things hoped to be achieved by the world tour and the relevance of these to themselves, their business and the industry as a whole.
