The National : NATIONAL AUG SEPT OCT 2015
14 THE AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL DRYCLEANER & LAUNDERER AUGUST SEPTEMBER OCTOBER 2015 SUNDAY, AUGUST 23rd BENDIGO DRYCLEANERS Sunday started at 9.00am sharp with a visit to Bendigo Dry Cleaners, owned by the Hicks family. Justine Hicks shared their history, which included taking advantage of an opportu- nity to relocate to much larger premises, with high visibility and abundant parking. The space and layout was the envy of everyone present, and com- plimented by a very attractive and functional entrance. It was great to see Nigel and Dianne still very involved, and very proud of Justine. Justine in turn paid tribute to Matt Hyde and John Murphy with a heartfelt “Thank You” for the help they gave her during the steep learning curve as her role has grown within the company. Justine said she was delighted to have DIA VIC and all the delegates this weekend to look through her plant and hoped they would look around, pick up a couple of ideas, and perhaps pass some on to her! The Bendigo DryCleaners plant is “scarily clean” ... not my words! It was pointed out tome that you could actually eat lunch from the spilltray at the back of the drycleaning machine. Nigel, Dianne, and Justine Hicks, John Hays (Spencer Systems) was very impressed with the plant maintenance. Yes, shirt ties are very much in use at Bendigo Drycleaners. A great boon to the drycleaner. Car parking ...just a dream for most city drycleaners.
