The National : DRY CLEANER MAY 2017
28 THE AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL DRYCLEANER & LAUNDERER MARCH APRIL MAY 2017 Ifyou have been in the laundry industry for any length of time, you will have seen the gob- bling up of the middle and upper sized laundries by the big laundries. Right across Australia ... Western Australia, through South Australia to New South Wales and Queensland, three companies from Victoria have been steadily growing. Not just by picking the eyes out of the industry but also through the con- struction of new plants. But does that mean there are no small laundries left? That no new laundries will start up? No! On both counts. Speaking with Irene Cooper at Australian Linen Supply in Victoria on this very subject she told me of a young bloke in country Victoria who had started from scratch, was going great guns, and had already won an Award. So naturally, I gave Simon Cox of Yarra Linen a call and he very kindly agreed to speak with me. A VISIT TO In December 2015 Simon Cox took out the Small Business Award for “Getting Down To Business - Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award”. Simon is a graduate of Swinburne University, Small Business Management. I love the distinctive, classic logo which is so modern, it just screams hospitality – a work of art.
