Royston said “You do a great job of cleaning textiles. Hospitals do a great job of cleaning hard surfaces but! they don’t understand textiles a s a surface. By treating textiles with microbial protection, in test cases there was a clear 55% reduction per ward. Apart from the distress caused to patients and their families by nosocomial or hospital acquired infections, they have huge implications for available bed days in hospitals. Untreated textiles do contribute to HAI. A textile can leave your laundry in a clean and even sterile state, but once it is exposed to air, to hands, to surfaces at the hospital, it is no longer ‘clean’. With this applied antimicrobial chemistry, textiles are resistant to infection. A question from the delegates: Does it kill dust mites?
