Allied Traders and Manufacturers to be offered sponsorship and exhibition booth opportunities in the manner of the successful 2016 DIA National Conference. Perhaps they could also be prevailed upon to supply speakers. 9. Next Board Meeting – 15th November – AGM – Venue to be confirmed. OTHER BUSINESS Management of LAA It was noted that at the last meeting consideration was given to the cost of AI Secretarial services vs cost and a six month agreement was in place. This would expire at the end of December and if an alterna- tive was to be found it needed to be acted on. TREASURER’S REPORT – Anthony Kingsley The Treasurer’s Report was circulated to the board. It was noted that these were June 30 figures and not up to date. When asked why up to date figures were not avail- able, AI Group explained that at the Membership level the LAA pays for they can’t expect to have up to date fig- ures. More on that later. The Treasurer indicated his concern that funds were dissipating largely on the secretarial service, and the Association was going backwards at an unsustainable rate. GENERAL MEETING OF MEMBERS LUNCH Lunch, 12.30pm and Meeting with Speakers from 1pm to 3 pm. Lunch was generously provided by LDCT which also made a substantial room available to LAA Members. It was beneficial for Members to have the opportunity to explore the facility and see the equipment available for training. A further benefit for the industry is that as a consequence of seeing the facility, some allied traders had offered to donate more equipment and we look forward to updating you on this when it has occurred. SPEAKERS Following lunch, and warm welcome from the Chairman, three speakers brought their expertise to the floor, and from the questions it was clear that they were valued.
