That is time consuming and expensive, and you need photographs showing in detail where the diamantes were placed. “Sometimes, no matter how much testing you do, you will still run into problems with lace trims. This is usually from glues they use with the lace. We have tested lace, all sorts of lace, in all of the solvents and wash processes that we use. And still, from time to time, something will go yellow or brown. It might only be in one section. It goes straight to the wetcleaning. “Then there is pressing. If it isn’t a sheath dress, and fairly tidy, that’s another charge. You must charge differently for awkward, time consuming fluffy merengues that take time to press. “You need a basic wedding gown price, and upcharge from there depending on what the individual gown needs. Never, but never, give anything like a quote over the phone or counter if you can’t sight the dress. “Boxing of the gown: there is a cost to you, so there should be a cost to the customer. You might choose to include it in the price. I know some have a price which includes the box, and if it isn’t wanted, that is effectively a little bonus for them. “Speaking of your spotting board, adopt a 100% vigilance towards cleaning it, thoroughly. You don’t want chemicals or dyes from the last garments you spotted coming in contact with the wedding gown. “Clean it all over, including under the perforations. Have a supply of white towels handy. These show contamination instantly. You can put a towel underneath the garment to blot moisture as you feather out the soap mix you have sprayed on the stains.
