TREASURER’S REPORT Kerryn briefly reported that all financials are good and LAA is mak- ing money rather than losing it. $70,000 is invested into an account to increase the return on investment. Funds available $112,266.51 15 memberships currently outstand- ing. Email sent for reminders The financial reports provided by LDC Group Administration were all up to date. Motion – to accept the accounts; proposed by: Shirley Naylor seconded by: Rita Morrison. Carried STRATEGY AND DIRECTION Discussion was held as to where the LAA Board should focus its strategy and direction for the best outcome and information for our members. Suggestions from the board • Joe Sullivan-Data for laundry • Warwick Brown-Infection control testing of linen after cleaning • Warwick Brown-VRE outbreaks • LAA-do we look to advocate TRSA clean and green for Health Care, Aged Care and hospitality laundry • Hand washing management • Biological test • Warwick Brown-Risk management tools • Antimicrobial testing technology Topic for further discussion. What should we do in regard to infection control and how to incorporate this into laundries? Discussion was held around Benchmarking and its importance to our laundries but also the importance of local data to our industry members. The Board made the decision to use some of its resources to look for a website which could be used to specifically collect and collate data from our member laundry’s autonomously to provide bench marking for the LAA members. To provide the details on such webs site a consultant was to be sought to provide a fee proposal to look at such websites. Suggested names for this service to provide a proposal-Warwick Brown to design proposal guidelines Warwick Brown-suggested Paul Newbery Shirley Naylor-suggested Deborah Rechnitz formerly MFM who has experience in benchmarking. Motion – Warwick to develop the proposal guidelines and the two consultants be approached to provide their inter- est and costs associated with the task. All Board: Carried OTHER BUSINESS a. CINET - Kerryn gave an update on the CINET group and stated that the CINET group members can now access their website b. LAA – to updates on LinkedIn and Facebook also LAA to look at more social media LAA traders/members could have the links on their invoices, websites etc. c. Contact Chris from Spindle for assistance regarding “Go to meetings” d. Kerryn to monitor website. Re: number of persons who enter website etc. e. Anthony requested statement of term deposit account for next board members meeting f. Shirley requested an update on members past and present g. Tac – Kerryn stated TAC comes under a company called IBSA and that she is the Deputy Chair. Expressed how important TAC is to get what the laundry needs. Update on RTO’s Ray to follow up and report back at next board members meeting. h. Joe spoke about linen within the Ambulance and Public hospitals industry. Warwick will chase up old policy. i.
